Welcome to Seven Hills Junior Bowling Program Online.
Welcome to Arlene's Juniors Web Page. My name is Arlene and I'm the Youth League Coordinator of Seven Hills Lanes, in Seven Hills, Ohio. This is a page for the junior and bumper kids to come and find out the latest happenings with their leagues. I hope to have something about each junior league.

All our junior leagues are on Saturdays. Our 10AM league is for kids ages 11 and under. Our 12:30 PM leagues is for kids ages 18 and under. Preferrably ages 12 to 18........ but we do have some young kids in this age group. And our 3PM league is for kids ages 3 to 7 years old and is a bumper league.

Our 10AM and 12:30PM leagues are both sanctioned with YABA, Young American Bowling Alliance. All bowlers must be registered to bowl in these leagues. Our bumper leagues are for kids to learn the basic fundamentals of bowling and basically to have fun and enjoy the sport. Bowlers are eligible to earn a variety of patches for their bowling successes and we encourage them to improve on their bowling skills throughout the year.

The Seven Hills Junior Program has been running for several years now. We have just become sanctioned thru YABA in the past 5 years or so. We started with two leagues at 10 AM and 12:30 PM of kids from ages 6 thru 18. Each league has 12 teams with 4 bowlers on each team. Each team is responsible for choosing their own team name and many have come up with some creative names..... such as Alley Cats, Pinheads, Set Em Up and Strike Force .... to name a few.

The bumper league has not been running as long as the juniors...... only for about 4 years. It started out with just 18 kids on 6 teams and has grown to be our most popular league for our youngest bowlers. Many start out in the bumper program and soon move up to the 10 AM juniors. They once depended on the bumpers to get pins down...... but they soon learned to keep the ball in the center of the lanes and not to depend on the rails to score.

Details Later
Our 1998-1999 Fall leagues will be starting up on September 12, 1998 and will run thru April 10, 1999. We will be off the week after Thanksgiving for the holiday... but will still have Beat Your Coach Day where bowlers will have to beat my score ..... which to tell the truth, isn't hard to do! Our juniors are good bowlers and many can beat my scores without a handicap. We will also be off December 26, 1998 for Christmas holiday, and again on April 4, 1999 for the Easter holiday. All other Saturdays we will be bowling and scores will count.

We do have four parties throughout the year. Halloween (October 31, 1998), Christmas (December 19, 1998), Valentines (February 13, 1999) and End of the Season Party (April 24, 1999). Tho bowling scores count on these days...... we do make a fun day of it for the bowlers with pizza, pop and other goodies that each family brings in to share with all. We also have door prizes and raffle off little gifts to random bowlers.

Our Halloween party sometimes consists of a costume contest and there are several catagories to win in. We also raffle off some pumpkins to a couple lucky bowlers in each league.

At our Christmas party we have more raffles....... but sometimes we have a special visitor from the North Pole stop and see us. Santa Claus tries to make an appearance and to wish all good bowlers a happy holiday and to listen to their wishes for the coming season. Good old Santa always has some tasty candy canes and is willing to take pictures with our young bowlers and their families.

Valentine's Day we don't have anything real special... more raffles..... and sometimes sharing in exchanging Valentine's. But always lots of good food and fun times.

Our End of the Season party wraps things up for the year. Passing out all remaining awards that bowlers have earned throughout the year. All bowlers receive a trophy also on this day. The champs of course receive large trophies to show off to all their friends. We also have trophies for High Games, High Series, Most Improved Average, and many others. But everyone receives something. We have more raffles, good fun..... and a fun day of bowling on that day.
